What is the General Meeting entrance fee?
$2

What are raffles? How do I buy a ticket? What are the prices?
Occasionally UTAMA will hold a raffle prize for all attendees. You buy a ticket and we'll draw a random winner. You can buy tickets during office hours or during a general meeting. Prices for tickets vary depending on the prize. You can also win raffle tickets as game prizes during our GMs!

Do you do something for Anime North?
Yes! Every year, UTAMA members can join in on our discount prices and attend Anime North with or without us. There is usually an announcement.

I'm shy...
At UTAMA, we are a big family (we hope) and it may feel strange walking into a community like this, but know that we're always accepting and welcoming of new members. If you want to ease into the group, feel free to visit a few execs during their office hours and just read some manga. We're friendly. If you have any concerns, feel free to contact us via e-mail or message us via Facebook.

Membership

What are memberships?
These grant access to events, as well as allowing you to join our annual Anime North group and give you perks with our sponsors.

How much is a membership?
$10 - Full Membership (school year)
$6 - Half Membership (school semester)

Where do I get a membership?
At the door of all events or during office hours.

Where does membership money go?
Towards providing food and snacks for general meetings, raffle prizes, and other discounts for members.

The Art Studio

What's up with the Art Studio?
This is the art division of UTAMA open for all members interested in drawing, crafts, and writing. We offer basic lessons, contests, and variety of activities in an open environment. We also have an active official Facebook group where art is shared, discussion about art is had, and where all the meetings are generally planned. The Art Studio uses Facebook as its primary means of communication.
No Membership required!

The Office

What/Where/When is this?
See this page.

Where did you get the stock from?
We get our stock donated from members. We also display figures which our members no longer have enough room for at home. They are well taken care of.

Will UTAMA take my old manga/games/figures/furniture/etc?
Send us a message and we'll try.

I want to visit, but the schedule is never right... What can I do?
Message us and we'll arrange something for you.

General

Do I have to be a U of T student to participate?
Nope. Anyone can come with us.

I don't know much about anime but I want to come...
No problem, come anyways. We love sharing our hobby, and this is the environment to do so. You can ask the Facebook group for recommendations, check out our Execs' favourite shows, or stop by our office and check out some manga. The best option is to just come to one of our meetings and talk to members in person.

I have some ideas for UTAMA
Send us a message. We'll be happy to hear it.

I'm from another club/organization and I want to collaborate with UTAMA
We always love to collaborate with other groups. Send us a message via Facebook or our website. You can always visit our office hours or meetings, too.

I have a problem with someone in UTAMA...
UTAMA isn't a place for conflict or discomfort and it is important you tell us about this problem as soon as you can, no matter how small. If you're uncomfortable with approaching us directly, you can send us a message on the contact page and tell us the best way we can get back to you. UTAMA is a safe space and we'll do anything we can to make members feel welcome.

How do I become an exec?
At the end of the school year, UTAMA holds elections for executive positions. Information arises when the time comes.
